Online seminar: “The value of 5G technologies for SME’s”

How can 5G technologies become an enabler for SME digitalisation? What are the inspiring use cases and success stories? Are there any transnational learnings to take forward in the Baltic Sea Region?

DINNOCAP project

The seminar will
- explore existing knowledge and practice
- give examples of why and how SME’s can use 5G in their business
- inspire how to raise awareness and encourage SME’s to prepare for upcoming 5G technologies

Background and content
5G is changing the communications landscape and will have transformative effect on the companies work
processes and development of products and services in the future.

The equipment and telecom industry provide different showcases and solutions for the larger companies
on how 5G will enable digitalization of the companies and enable more efficient processes in production
and distribution of goods and services. Larger companies will further have possibilities for

It is, however, less clear how SMEs can get advantages of 5G in their internal work processes and
development of products and services. The seminar will give examples of their challenges and opportunities
with a focus on industrial practice.

The seminar will present use cases from industrial practice in neighboring countries that can illustrate
benefits for SME’s by adopting 5G techs. Inspired by these inputs a panel will discuss how SME’s can be
encouraged to take up new 5G technologies in their business. The discussion will be extended to include all
participants as an interactive discussion.
